Christ-Centered Singing and Preaching

Are You Part of the Family?

Ok, so maybe you think that this is going to be another advertisement encouraging you to support us. Guess again!

You see, the most important thing to us is that you are a believer. The Bible spells out the why's and how's:

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
-Romans 3:21-24 (NKJV)

Take time to check out Exodus 20. In it, God lists His ten most important commandments. Check it out. Have you broken even one? Even if you've only broken ONE, God can't let you into Heaven. The Bible says, "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:20, NKJV) The scribes and Pharisees were people who looked like they had it together on the outside, but on the inside were--in Jesus' words--"full of dead men's bones" (Matthew 23)!

So maybe you think that you're OK with God. You think that you haven't sinned any. (Do you know for sure?) Let's take a look at God's commandments. Have you ever stolen anything (even something small)? What does that make you. If you answered "A thief," you're correct! What about a lie? Have you ever told even a "little" one?

The one that gets me is that Jesus said that if anyone looks at someone else lustfully, that person has committed adultery with the person they were lusting after in their heart. One of God's commands is, "'You shall not commit adultery.'" (Exodus 20:14, NKJV) Have you ever lusted after someone? If you come to terms with it, you will see that you're a lying thief and adulterer-at-heart!

Thankfully there is a way out of this mess. "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!" (Romans 7:24-25a, NKJV)

How to recieve Jesus as Lord and Savior:

Recognize that you are a sinner unable to save yourself: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23, NKJV).

Pray: Tell God that you are sorry for your sins and renounce them. Turn away from them. You can pray in your own words or you can use this written prayer:

Dear God, I'm sorry for my sins. Please forgive me. I renounce them and turn away from them and turn to you as my Savior. Come into my life. Live through me.
In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
